I was at camp on an island this week (from Saturday to Saturday). Yesterday, I was playing capture the flag. I slipped and landed funny on my leg. At first I thought it was nothing and tried to stand up, but my leg wouldn't support me and it caused me tons of pain. Soo, I fell down and some of the camp counselorscame to see what happened. They looked at my leg and called the nurse. She came over and put me in a cart thing to drive me to her office on the island. She then looked on it and said it was probably broken 'cause the pain was above the ankle. She called an ambulence and told her son (who was one of the camp counselors) to drive me back to the mainland in a boat with my parents. When we got back to the mainland, the ambulence was waiting. They put me on a streatcher (which was quite fun despite that my leg was hurting) and put me in the ambulence and drove me to the hospital. We got to the hospital and I got my leg X-rayed. The doctor then gave me some pain-killers which made me tired. Before I fell asleep, they told me that I had broken two bones in my leg. It had also moved a growth plate or something. After I fell asleep, the doctor re-placed the growth plate and I woke up with a cast on. My leg didn't hurt much 'cause of the pain-killers. The next day (today) we drove home but my dad and sisters stayed on the island. I had to go home though, the doctor said I shouldn't stay on the island. Mainly 'cause it is hard to walk with the crutches and we can't bring our cars on the island. Sooo, here I am now. At home. I can't do much 'cause I have to keep my foot elevated.
Sorry if I bored you with this long thingy. I just had to say something. I hate my leg...

Wow, well good luck with that. I hope it's not as worst as my sister's was. She fell down the stairs making her leg broken for one month.

Wow, that sucks. I've never had any injuries, so I can't really feel your pain at all. I've got a strong body (despite my lack of proper exercise) and a powerful immune system. I hardly even get sick. As cool as that is, I do sometimes wish something like that would happen to me. Darn hippies...

Like Blue Mage, I've never had any serious injuries like that so I don't know what to say.

Low: That is creepy. How did you do it? I just was talking to someone at camp today who broke their leg at camp playing Capture the flag but it was a minor fracture and she got off the cast in 4 weeks (I have to have my cast for 7 weeks. Ug) and for the last two weeks she got a cast you can walk on. How she broke it is she had the flag and someone hit her weird. I did it by slipping on wet grass, my left leg (the broke one) kicking under me and me landing on it.

Good news! I've had a small cast for a while. I'm allowed to swim in it and walk on it. Walking is the hard one. It hadn't had pressure on it in 2 1/2 weeks (I got the old cast of early, whoo!). I just tried walking on it yesterday. I can do a sort of hobble.
